For your issue, if it is the same, there will be no solution.... But you can
try to put the paths that you need to keep on your HDD, on the "exclude"
list of VSC and let it not to scan that directories... I am not sure if it
works and if it also cuts the virus scanning for these data transfers and
may cause a risk...
