Dr GUI, I've lost my debugger and I can't get up

Dr.  GUI,

While working on my language, they removed my  de{*filter*} from VB
and replaced it with a cheap aftermarket knockoff. Now I don't know what to
do. Everything hurts, and the simplest tasks take forever to figure out. My
new language now makes this awful noise: 'run break, stop ,run, break
stop...'. Seriously, is there any plan to return it, or has my de{*filter*} gone
the way of the Vista Cruiser. I am desperate. Can you help, or should I call
Dr. Kevorkian.

Don't give up the ghost yet! Chances are that we'll see this in a
future version. It's one of those things they had to "let go" in order
to get this version to ship. Lots of VB developers feel lost without
this, and I did too, at first. Believe me, like any loss, it becomes
less pungent with time. By the time it gets added back in, we'll all
be used to debugging like the C++ folks have been debugging for years
<g>. I know my joking about it doesn't make it any better, but it's
the best I can do. -- Ken

Unfortunately, eVB is in a cul de sac.  You got in, but the only way out is
back the way you came, and the city isn't ever going to make it a through
street.

Seriously, eVB is the end of the line and is never going to get an upgrade,
patch or service pack.  To continue VB development on CE, you'll have to
jump to .NET.

It isn't that bad, really.  Just look at the code a little bit more.  I find that using the Command Window, I can get a lot of
things done (especially combinded with setting the next statement).

The rest of the improvements make productivity so much higher, I can live without edit and continue.
