Is there such a thing? Perhaps a pay-by-incidence phone number that can
be used?
As useful as usenet is, the response time (back and forth emails) can
sometimes be detrimental....

Perhaps finding a local consultant who has the experience you need might be
what you need.  If you develop a good rapport with said individual, you
might be able to obtain telephone "support" when you want.  Don't discount
Usenet though.  It's a great place.

Besides, good app development takes time.  Nothing truly great (and bug
free) can really be built in the timeframe between when you post and get a
response.

I'd be the last one to discount usenet--I use it all the time.
The "support" I'm looking for is of the type when there is a "technical"
problem with vs.net--not a "programming" issue.....which is keeping
systems from being usable. That's what I'm dealing with right now. When
vs.net can't run because of an issue, waiting days and days for back and
forth responses just won't cut it.

Please note that if you are a MSDN subscriber, that you get a Microsoft
employee to reply to a post that you post.  I have found this very valuable.
