VB6 and VB.NET side by side

Is it possible to install VB6 after installing VB.NET
2003? I mean side by side execution...

Or VB6 installation will change certaion settings and DLL
back to pervious ones and 'kill' the .NET one...

Any help is appeciated.

Thanks

Hi,

It should not be a problem.  VB6 is com based and VB.NET uses
the dotnet framework.

I did and I did not have a problem. In fact, I've had both VS6 and VS .NET open at the same time,
for a length of time, and they had no affect on each other (I forgot to close the one before opening
the other).

I currently have VS6 w/VB6 SP5 installed.  I, too, need both VS6 and VS.NET
to live harmoniously.

Do I have to uninstall/re-install VS6?

TIA,

Chris Rybitski

You can install Visual Studio .NET on a computer that is running Visual
Studio 6.0 and use both. You can refer to the following link which contains
an FAQ for this:
