 Menu accelerator

I created a menu on a form placing an ampersand in all of the items (text
property).  In design mode, each item displays with the underline in the
correct place.  However, when the application executes, the underlines are
not present unless the menu line has focus.  The keys work, but it's not
apparent that they are applicable when you can't see the underline.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this a "feature"?

Just a guess here that might help. On my system I can right-click on
the desktop and select Properties. in the Effects tab is an option
"Hide keyboard navigation indicators until I use the Alt key" which
receives a somewhat different explanation in the accompanying Help
message.

That did it.  Thanks.

Microsoft sure knows how to hide stuff!
