How to generate a machine unique ID

I have created an import / export component for my application and I want to
have a way to track it back to it's originating point ( the machine that the
files were exported from ). I know that MS and others generate machine
unique IDs and I was hoping someone could share with me a way to do this.

Thanks,
Matt
