    I believe the only people with beta ids are technical testers. If you
are not one of them, that is why it is a public beta

I was emailed that I am in the Beta.  I have received my designated Beta ID
for the web site, but my numeric beta id and password has not arrived.  The
original email said "in a few months" so I figure they consider Beta1 simply
a public beta and we will see our id's in Beta 2.
