ive asked this q , but i hope here i could find nice answer for the question
(and not other solution..)

what i want to know is if ADO.NET can Do THIS TASK :

1.open connection to DB .
2.querty/select/open (call it how u want ) ,and create 3 dataTables in
DataSet.
3.close connection to DB.
*4* . (this is the MAIN question) - can i query the 3 dataTables like it was
small DB and create new DataTable From it ? can i do that with sql ?

---------
i know DataTable has Select method ,but this is good for 1 table .
And i know i can use the select with 2 tables if there is parent-child
connection.

but this is not the enough for me.
i need to know if i ADO.NET can do EXACTLY the *4*  part in the TASK.

have a nice day.

You can do 1-3.
You cannot do #4. DataTables aren't replicas of a DBMS - you cannot use SQL
to query. There is a Select method in the DataTable class which you can use
to retrieve rows on criteria - and this may be enough for you. But it does
not have full querying capabilities.

The newsgroup above (ADO.NET) is a better place to post this question.

Daylor,
In addition to the others comments.

#4) You can query the 3 data tables, you can create a new datatable, but you
cannot use SQL, you will need to use all code.

Of course if you want to write a simple SQL parser... ;-)

There is a JoinView sample custom DaveView class for VB.NET that may get you
closer to what you want. Using this JoinView will get you the query, then
its a matter of using DataTable.ImportRow to add the rows to the new
DataTable.

See:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B325682

Alternatively you could move though the first DataTable, use the
DataRow.GetChildRows to get the related children, then for each parent/child
combination add this to the new DataTable.

Hope this helps
Jay
