 Getting a "Catastrophic Failure" error

I'm having trouble using my ActiveX control on the server side. I've set
it up to it can be created windowless and simply save it's drawing info
as a GIF that could be referenced on the client. This works great in VB
by Dim-ing a New control then setting all the properties and saving it
as a gif. All without being dropped on a form.

Back to ASP. The control is created without errors but when I try to
call a method or set a property I get:

Error Type:
(0x8000FFFF)
Catastrophic failure
/test/pie3.asp, line 10

Below is the code for my .asp page:

ASP
---------------------------------------------

<HTML>
<TITLE>pie.asp</TITLE>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
This is a test of the save a pie to a gif:<p>
<%
Dim pie
Set pie = CreateObject("MyPie.Pie.1")

' Save as GIF
pie.ImageToGif "pie.gif", 400, 400, 20, 96 ' ERROR HERE

response.write "<img src='pie.gif'>"
%>

</BODY>
</HTML>

Please HELP!

 Getting a "Catastrophic Failure" error
This is just a guess, but the directory you are trying to write to probably
does not have write access allowed for the IUSR account.

If so, the simple solution is granting read/write to anonymous users.
I don't think this is something you should do unless you have to.

I am pretty new at this, but I believe that if this is you own component,
you should be able to do this by creating a MTS component.

Basically, you have to set the MTS property of your project from VB to
"Always Run in new thread" or so.  Then register the component through MTS
(in NT4 sp3? or win 2k).  MTS will allow you to allow your component to run
under an Administrator's context.

Good luck
