This is a site server 3.0 which is used as a development server. This was
installed and the files were transferred from production server to
development server. What could be wrong that this error is coming up? I
appreciate your help in this.

Whatever 'MSCSSite' refers to is not registered.  Make sure the COM object it references is registered on the new server.

Alex,

I appreciate your reply. I am sorry that I didn't understand your answer. I
am not an ASP specialist or COM specialist. I more a Network Engineer and
Systems Administrator. So, if you could explain to me in more simple terms
what I should do I would appreciate it.

thanks again
John

Isn't 'MSCSSite' related to the Visual COmmerce/Site Server eCommerce
software?

Is this installed on the new server?

When he says "Registered" he means typing regsvr32.exe dllNamehere at a
command prompt (there are other ways, I acknowledge) so the system 32 files
(.dlls, keeping it real simple) fire up and the system knows where to find
them when called upon.

Um - yes, that's what I meant... :)

Could you provide the entire line of code that the error is on?  That will let us probably tell you something about what you are missing.

I'm not really sure how else to describe that to a system admin .. I'm just
a humble web programmer.

This *IS* Site Server eCommerce related. Last time I encountered something
like this was with Visual Commerce, which is a polished front for Site
Server eCommerce.

If I remember correctly, the global.asa is a fairly complicated mishmash of
session and application variables, so you may wish to ensure that your site
is correctly set up as an application.

You will also want to ensure that the visual commerce/site server eCommerce
software is installed and registered correctly.
