Is it possible to write event to the OS eventlog, If so how ?

From the System Administrator Scripting Guide:

Const EVENT_SUCCESS = 0
Set objShell = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")
objShell.LogEvent EVENT_SUCCESS, _
    "Payroll application successfully installed."
