that the problem only happend on select box but text box etc.
--------------------------
<select name="D1" style="position: absolute; z-index: -9; left: 26; top:
94"> </select>
<div style="position: absolute; left: 117; z-index: 4"><img border="0"
src="test.gif" width="391" height="401"></div>
--------------------------

Select boxes are 'windowed' controls (e.g. displayed by the OS, not the
browser?) and as such they always [irrespective of zIndex etc.] appear on
top of everything else.

It is possible to selectively make them invisible while you have something
over them.

NB: don't attempt to make a windowed control invisible whilst it has the
focus - VB users will be familiar with the resulting crash / error.
