 print the main frame from the top frame

Hello,

this script in the top frame does not print the main frame (mainFrame). Why?

"window.parent.mainFrame.print();"

Thank's for your help.

 print the main frame from the top frame
top.mainframe.print();
top.frames['mainframe'].print();

this is a window.print()-capable browser? <IE5 doesn't do it.

and if the two frames are loaded from different domains, it would
probably fail under security restrictions. I haven't double-checked that
though...

This unfortunately doesn't print the mainframe if you click from a link in
another frame as mainframe.
I have to script instead :
top.frames['mainframe'].focus();
print();
I don't know why a one line instruction doesn't run ..

Thank's for your help.
