 forcing a browser "Back"

Is there any script out there that would enable me to force a click of the
Browser's Back button?

Not sure if you need the click event or if you just want to go back.
See if
history.go(-1);  // -1 is the number of pages to go back
works for you.
Be aware that if the page it is invoked on is the browser's opening
page, there is no history object and there will be an error.

Change the focus to a button and attache an "onfocus"
event to that button to send you back using a history.go(-
1).
