I check the IE version as follows in JScript

function IEVersionNumber()
{
var loVersion=navigator.appVersion;
return (loVersion.substr(loVersion.indexOf("MSIE")+5,3));

Quote:
}

This returns me <return>5.0</return> for an installed IE where the
Help,About gives me Version: 5.50.4134.0600 because navigate.appVersion
returns <appVersion>4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Window NT 5.0)</appVersion>
How comes ? How to differentiate between 5.0 and 5.5 ?

TIA

Well, 2128 is nowhere near the released version of Windows 2000 ;-)

2195 was the RTM build.
