 Newbie can't find JScript reference manual

I'm trying to write code that works for both N and IE.  What is the best
source of tips on the lowest common denominator between these two?

Netscapes JavaScript formal documentation is easy to find, but I've
spent two days looking around Microsoft's web nightmare for formal
documentation for JScript with no success.

So: Where do I get a JScript manual for IE3x and IE4x.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I found a file called JSDOC.exe from their Script engine page, but when
I try to open it in html-help it crashes.  (I know my html-help is
working because I use it for other things.)
Thanks,   -- Howard
Thanks, but then I guess their manual (i.e. jsdoc.exe) is broken at the
moment.  I submitted a bug report for it earlier this morning.  Does anyone
have a copy of a working earlier version they could email me?
Microsoft has on-line documentation here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/default.htm?/scripting/jscript/
Hi,
All the documentation of Scripting languages : Jscript and VBscript
could be downloaded at :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/default.htm?/scripting/jscript/
But the documents downloaded, can't be opened without Htmlhelp.exe you must
download it once.
After that you must also have IE4.0 or later to be able to open these
documents with Htmlhelp.
Good luck.
Thanks Malek; I'll bet this is the problem.
<soapbox>Once upon a time I installed IE4, but it misbehaved to badly I
promptly uninstalled it.  I really want to be able to test my pages on all
versions of browsers, but given the choice MS has offered us, which is to have
IE3 or IE4 but not both, I guess I'll stick with IE3 for now.  BTW, I checked
out all of the JavaScript books at our local bookstore last night.  _The
JavaScript Bible_ was the only one I found with a table of version information
to make it easier to write cross browser code.  Others might have had something
less well organized, but this table in the back was really great.  If I wasn't
already pretty much done with my JavaScript coding project I would buy it.
It's $50 and comes with a CD.</soapbox>
Thanks again,   -- Howard
