 Launching an application/File Associations

My site currently has a number of points at which the users clicks on a link
and it downloads an image (Tiff or Jpeg) which is then viewed automatically
in WANGIMG (Wang Imaging). This worked fine at one client site, but when we
expanded to another site, we started getting problems:

If the users selects a link, the image is downloaded, and wangimg is
launched, but the image is not displayed in Wang. The .tif/.jpg extensions
are specially configured in Netscape to launch Wang, so I suspect the whole
problem is one of file associations.

While we're dealing with this problem, I would like to work out a temporary
fix, where the link launches Wang with a filename as a parameter. Is this
possible? If so, how?

Thanks...

Hi,

Not really... you would have to use an unsafe ActiveX component such as
WScript.Shell to run the EXE.
