How do I pack things in a frame in a toplevel frame

The problem is that I can pack a top level frame and labels & buttons &
entry widgets but if I ry to put a frame TK burps ....

This works:

  toplevel .msg
  m title .msg "Message"
  message .msg.message -text "$message" -width 500
  button .msg.button -text "Exit Screen" -width 50 -command {destroy .msg}
  pack .msg.message .msg.button -side top

but this does not
------------------

toplevel .stack_pop_up2
frame .newframe
pack .stack_pop_up2.newframe -side bottom -expand yes -fill x -pady 5

label stack_pop_up2.newframe.e1 -text "Current 303043"
entry stack_pop_up2.newframe.e2 -width 20 -bd 2 -textvariable name1
pack stack_pop_up2.newframe.e2 .stack_pop_up2.newframe.e1 -side left

this puts the frame in the root window not the toplevel ...
-------------------------------------------------------------
toplevel .stack_pop_up2
frame .newframe
pack .newframe -side bottom -expand yes -fill x -pady 5

Help help How do I create frames inside a toplevel frame ?
  thanks

Try naming the frame .stack_pop_up2.newframe or use the -in option on the pack.
