 Test Tool for Unit Tests?

Hi,

I'm searching tools for C++ Unit Test.
I do know already some but for sure not all.
Are there some public domain / open source tools out there which
automatically generates testscripts (perl or tcl)?

thanks for your help

Gerold :-)

How should that work?

There is something called CppUnit at the following address

http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?CppUnit

Haven't used it, however.

I'm not sure what you are looking for in 'automatic' test script
generation.

But Tcl has a wonderful test suite capability.  Check the Tcltest man
page.

You can tie your C++ units into Tcl (or even python or Perl, if you're
so inclined :-) using SWIG (http://www.swig.org/).

A good resource in general for software quality technology,
and for unit testing technology as well, is the Software Quality
Hotlist you'll find at:

  <http://www.soft.com/Institute/HotList/index.html>

It has over 2000 links...more are being added all the time.

There is an open source CPP unit testing tool at
http://www.xprogramming.com/software.htm. There is no automation available
however. Unit tests are worth the effort even if you have to write them by
hand.

It helped me.  I think this is a great simple entry point for getting
into unit testing.

I have also found the various incarnations of cppunit floating around on
the net to be mostly broken.
