Hi,

we intend to use python 1.3 with tk under windows nt 3.51 for a
commercial product. we are evaluating python currently. we would like
to get some honest opions about python under windows nt. is it stable?
what are the biggest problems or bugs we should know? what are the
experiences other companies with python? What about Tk? ....
We appreciate every mail.

Thanks

I feel confident in saying that Python on NT is just as stable as on
any other platform.  If you are happy with Python, you will be happy
with Python on NT!

Tk is another matter.  This is very new, and as far as I know only a
few people have managed to get this going - Guido being one, so
support is definately coming.

Tk on NT, IMHO is riskier.  Python is fine!

Mark.

Tk is still a beta, but it seems to work fine (looks like Motif,
though :-).  I've used it for relatively large apps on both Unix and
NT, without any problems at all.

And as Mark said, Python itself is about as stable as can be...

I've been using Python on NT since last December (that's when I started
working on Windows). I have never run into any Python language problems or
bugs.

I have not used tk under NT, but instead have used WPY. WPY is a
platform-independent windowing system, implemented on top of MFC on
Windows and on top of tk on Unix.
