ICLP'93 Workshop: Practical Implementations
Call For Participation
ICLP'93 Postconference Workshop on
Practical Implementations and Systems Experience
Budapest, Hungary
June 25, 1993
Sponsored by the Association of Logic Programming
This full-day workshop is devoted to *implementing* logic programming
languages, both sequential and parallel, and related languages such as
functional and object-oriented languages. The emphasis is on real-life
experience with implementations: compilation, optimization, runtime
kernels, performance and systems building tools, empirical performance
analysis, and benchmarking.
In general the papers solicited are those that may be considered too
detailed and implementation-specific for ICLP. We are interested both
in papers describing one specific hack in detail, as well as papers
describing overall systems-building experience both qualitatively and
quantitatively. What interesting hacks went into the system? Where is
most of the execution time spent? If the system was to be rebuilt, what
changes would be made? How does the system compare to implementations
of the same or similar languages? One key point of each paper must be a
self-critique, putting the work in perspective with other systems that
are out there.
Researchers in all fields of computer languages, compilers, systems
implementations, and parallel processing are invited to submit papers to
this workshop. WE ESPECIALLY INVITE PAPERS FROM INDUSTRY! The papers
will be refereed and selected by the workshop organizer. Proceedings
will be initially prepared as a University of Oregon Technical Report.
