PERL/PWS DOS Window popup problem SOLVED !!!

I think I've found the solution to my problem with a DOS window popping up
every time I run a PERL script, among MANY other PERL problems I was having.
This may be helpful to the others who are having similar problems.

It seems the version of PWS that I installed (which I can't find a way to
determine) that came with FrontPage 98 is a piece of {*filter*}!!! I re-installed
the PWS that came on the Windows 98 CD, and ALL IS WELL !!!! Of course, I
had to re-enter the registry settings to get the Perl Scripting to work. Now
why the hell would the re-install delete the registry entries, and leave
them blank ?!?!?!

A nice waste of 3 days. I guess, as MS products go, I should consider myself
lucky.

If you'd installed Win32 Apache instead, at least the time spent would
have been productive.  What nowadays is called a "transferrable
skill".

(but I'm sure c.l.p.m doesn't want this thread continued, so f'up set)
