HPUX installation problem....

 HPUX installation problem....

I am trying to install the basic web modules (HTML..., URI..., ) on an
HP Unix box.  I have the GNU gcc installed.  I think the /usr/bin/cc
is a link to the gcc ( I will check).  Anyway, the make fails.  I
deduce that the problem is the compiler.  Perhaps it is not set up to
see ANSI C?  The tar.gz files were ftp's via Windows NT and then
upload the the HP box (binary).  Any help would be appreciated.

These are *ALL* messages from HP's bundles C compiler. Not from gcc and
not from HP's ANSI C-compiler (which would accept all of these options).

HP-UX ANSI C-compiler could be found in /opt/ansic. Use it if you have it!

 HPUX installation problem....

If I assume the gcc compiler "works", how do I change the Makefile to
look for the GNU compiler rather than the sorry C compiler that comes
with HPUX?

I notice there is a line that says:

cc =cc

I tried to change it to read cc = /opt/gcc/bin/gcc

No luck.

John.

 HPUX installation problem....
Hi,

Our web server (runing Apache) with the web site that has several
bulky CGI Perl scripts. Recently I decided to reorganize these scripts to
extract generation of Html "code" from them and to use HTML::Template
module in them. However, even the simplest CGI scripts using
HTML::Template fails when executed through Apache (ie, when they are
invoked as a CGI scripts). They work fine when executed from shell.

Here is the tail of correcponding Apache error log file:

...

failed--compilation aborted at HTML/Template.pm line 653. BEGIN
failed--compilation aborted at /www/test/test01.cgi line 11.
[Thu Jul  6 15:09:42 2000] [error] [client 196.134.45.197] Premature end of script headers: /www/test/test01.cgi

Apache is configured properly, at least all other CGI scripts that I have
work properly.

File integer.pm does exist (/usr/perl5/5.00503/integer.pm).

I tried to set the envinronment variable PERL5LIB (from CGI script) to
/usr/perl5/5.00503:/usr/perl5/site_perl/5.005 but that did not help.

Any suggestions? Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

Predrag
