What is sybperl?

 What is sybperl?

Reviewing the messages still available within this newsgroup, I noted
references to some variant of perl called 'sybperl' that appears to have
database extensions (maybe to work with sybase?).

What is sybperl?  If it isn't what I have surmised above, is there a
variant of perl that would contain SQL functionality?

Thanks,

Sybperl is a 'usersub' extension to Perl that adds some Sybase
DBlibrary (oops, sorry, OpenClient C) functionality to Perl. If you're
familiar with DBlibrary, you'll be able to write Perl scripts that
access a Sybase dataserver very easily.
