 Ringing the BEL in perl.

I have tried to ring the BEL in perl, but I can't seem to do it.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

(Perl 4.x, SunOS 4.1)

Try

        print "\007";

In 4.x you can also say

        print "\a";

just as in ANSI C.  Remember that you might have to set $| to get it
to come out immediately, since your stdio may be doing line buffering.
Alternately, do

        syswrite(STDOUT, "\a", 1);

print "^G";  # that's <CTRL>-<G>, of course

Works for me.
