 After RH 7.2 upgrade -- "perl: warning: Setting locale failed"

I just upgraded to RH 7.2 and am encountering a problem with perl ...
whenever I run a perl program, I get the following message...

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = (unset),
LC_ALL = (unset),
LANG = "en_US"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

I'm running perl v5.6.0 built for i386-linux

Any idea why this might be happening?

I didn't get this message when I was running RH 7.1.

Thanks!

 After RH 7.2 upgrade -- "perl: warning: Setting locale failed"
edit /etc/bashrc
Add the lines:

LC_ALL=C
export LC_ALL
