 format statements and emacs "perl" mode

Hiya...

Inclusion of format statements into my code seems to throw off the
automatic indentation normally operational under "perl"-mode in emacs;
anyone else have this problem, or know what i can do about it?  i
can't tell which perl-mode.el i'm using, i byte-compiled it and threw
away the .el file ...

Thanks,
doug

Yah.  Put all your format statements at the end of your file.
