 eval eats up all my memory! (in perl5)

: In fact, the following script grows and grows:
:
: #!/bin/perl
: while (1) {
:       eval "1;";   ## same for  eval "\$foo = 1;"
: }
:
: Is this a correct behaviour?

No.  It's already fixed for 5.002.
