I'm new to pointers...
Author Message
 I'm new to pointers...

... so do not know the answer to the following.

I have what amounts to the following code:

      REAL, TARGET :: BOARD
      REAL, POINTER :: DART

      DART => BOARD

Now, the pointer evaluated at run time.

Is there any standard conforming way to evaluate the pointer at compile
tile (as in a DATA statement) ?

Thanks in advance

Hmm... Yes, I understood the question
to be "other than null()", but point taken.
