static storage compiler switch for Sun f77?

static storage compiler switch for Sun f77?

I've been porting some code (that I did not write) to various machines.
It was originally written for a Silicon Graphics workstation, and
the Makefile included the compiler switch "-static" so that static
storage would be used for the program variables.

I ported it successfully to an HP 9000/715 using a "-K +E7"
f77 compiler switch.

Now, I would like to compile this code on a Sun 4, and am wondering
how I should go about this.  Going through the man page for f77
on the Sun, I saw no discussion of static storage.  Comments?

Thanks,
Jeff

What you seek is already the default condition. In sufficiently recent
versions of the compiler, there is a -stackvar which places locals on
the stack.

cheers
