 MF Dialog Questions

I'm trying to implement MF DIALOG on PC/NT:

1) Is there a conversion tool for PC SCREEN (COLUMN/ROW stuff) to
DIALOG screensets?

2) I get a lot of GPE's - too damn many!

3) When I exit a program (.int/.gnt), I cannot go back to it (says
cannot run multiple copies - CANCEL does not resolve this problem)

4) I have the latest (v3.2.20 COBOL and 2.5.42 DIALOG) version of MF
products on MS Windows 3.1 (8 MB RAM, IBM ValuePoint 486).

Your help will be much appreciated.

PS: MF Home Page sample program downloads include HTM errors (<img )
and many "zip" files are NOT zip's.  Has anyone experienced similar
problems?  TIA

: 1) Is there a conversion tool for PC SCREEN (COLUMN/ROW stuff) to
: DIALOG screensets?

No. Dialog screensets do not have a concept of column/row.

: 2) I get a lot of GPE's - too damn many!

I agree. Perhaps MF have some patches?

: 3) When I exit a program (.int/.gnt), I cannot go back to it (says
: cannot run multiple copies - CANCEL does not resolve this problem)

How do you call the sub-program? If you are not using DSRUNNER
then you should "push" the main screenset onto the stack and
then open the new screenset. When exiting the sub-program you
should close the screenset and "pop" the main screenset back.

: 4) I have the latest (v3.2.20 COBOL and 2.5.42 DIALOG) version of MF
: products on MS Windows 3.1 (8 MB RAM, IBM ValuePoint 486).

We are using almost the same versions on MS WFWG 3.11 (16MB RAM)
        on a Pentium.

Sorry. The only sample I downloaded worked fine so I can't give
        any guarantees for the others.

Sorry to diversify a bit but Im using GUI DIALOG and in a few mails
here Ive seen this DSRUNNER mentioned. When I found it in my system it
just looks like a little 1 panel screenset that runs other screensets.
We've basically got three major modules which call three major
screensets which callout to three major validation programs (bit over
simplistic but you get the jist) running in OS/2. Im just intreged by
how this DSRUNNER fits into the situation and whether you think that it
could have any benefits in our situation (obviously barring a major
rewrite).
