Slow nmake performance

 Slow nmake performance

My nmake performance is terrible under W98 SE.
Even simple things like appending text to a file it goes line, pause,
line, pause, etc.  Have another machine in the lab that is just blasts
off the screen.  The blasting machine is a 233 amd the slow machine is a
600 PIII.
Does anyone else have this problem or perhaps a fix?

What has this to do with comp.lang.c ?

What part of that was related to ANSI C?

You seem to be asking a technical support question related to the performance
of the proprietary build management program called NMAKE.

Note that the purpose of the comp.lang.c newsgroup is to provide a forum
for discussions pertaining directly to the standard C language and its use.

Because NMAKE is a component of the Microsoft Visual C++ development suite,
your queston may be received by an audience in some newsgroup related to
MSVC++.

More to the point, how a discussion about nmake pertains to the C language.

Not just any old relationship will do; there must be a pertinence which
emanates from the subject to be discussed and proceeds squarely toward C.

Not the other way around.
