 floating pt in TC

Hello,
        When I used Turbo C 2.0 to compile the following source code, it
        compiled sucessfully, however, it returned a error message "floating
        point not linked" when it was input by a floating number. Why?

        #include <stdio.h>

        main()
        {
                float a;

                scanf("%f", &a);
        }
