k&r2 pg 34, 2nd paragraph. Brian Kernighan writes, "At this point we have
covered what might be called the conventional core of C." And then says to
pause and write some small programs and that's what I'm going to do. As per
the book and Dan Pop's instruction. If I read on, it looks simple then gets
really confusing. I'm glad this group is here.

I recommend doing at least some of the exercises in each chapter as you
go, they are designed to reinforce what you just read. The next chapter
(2) is of critical importance and one you need to understand thoroughly.
