ANNOUNCE: Espresso!: The quick Java kick

Announcing Espresso!

Takes up less space and works faster than your everyday Java (tm).

Espresso! is a compiler that translates beta-level Java programs into
Java bytecode.  It requires a beta-level Java Developers' Kit, available
gratis from Sun Microsystems.  It can be used as a drop-in replacement
for Sun's regular compiler "javac".

Highlights:

  - Works about twice as fast as javac.
  - More compact than javac - a bit over 100K zipped.
  - Fully conforms to the latest (Oct 30th) Java standard.
  - Works on all Solaris and Windows 95 systems.

Espresso! is available free of charge from

    http://www.*-*-*.com/ ~espresso

We hope you will find it useful.

Yours

   The Espresso! team.
