                     REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD)
              moderated group comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric

This is a formal Request For Discussion (RFD) for the creation of a
world-wide unmoderated Usenet newsgroup comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric
This is not a Call for Votes (CFV); you cannot vote at this time.
Procedural details are below.

Newsgroup line:
comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric       Numeric assembler language programming. (Moderated)

RATIONALE: comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric

In the entire comp.lang.* areas, there are only two newsgroups
currently dedicated to programming in assembler language, and only one
of which deals with the x86 architecture most PC's use. However, of
these two groups, neither deal specifically with numeric assembler
coding, and it is rarely discussed at all within them. With the
creation of this new group, there will finally be a place dedicated to
the art of programming in numeric assembler language, as opposed to
symbolic assembler.

MODERATOR INFO: comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric

CHARTER: comp.lang.asm.x86.numeric

All articles suitable for posting to comp.lang.hexidecimal would be:

o Thoughts and/or ideas on programming in numeric assembler
o Sample code segments and snippits, or whole programs written purely in
o Quick reference sheets for learning hex, ie: Numeric equiv of 'jmp ##'
  is EB ## 90.
o Symbolic assembler code to be thought about and/or to be re-coded in
numeric code. (when related to someone else's post, when a coder gets
hung up on the code, or if it is really something new)

All articles unsuitable for posting to comp.lang.hexidecimal would be:

o Flames of any and all kinds.
o Excessive use of profanities or other words that are not appreciated.
o Personal attacks of any kind (as in, it is okay to say that an idea
someone has is stupid (not very nice thing to say, but still
allowable), but things like 'you are an idiot' will not be tolerated.)
o Job offers or for sale ads that are not related to programming in
  any form of assembler.
o Posts that are in no way related to the current topic, someone else's
post, or assembler programming at all.

This is a request for discussion, not a call for votes. In this phase
of the process, any potential problems with the proposed newsgroup
should be raised and resolved.  The discussion period will continue
for a minimum of 21 days (starting from when the first RFD for this
proposal is posted to news.announce.newgroups), after which a Call For
Votes (CFV) may be posted by a neutral vote taker if the discussion
warrants it. Please do not attempt to vote until this happens.  All
discussion of this proposal should be posted to news.groups.

This RFD attempts to comply fully with the Usenet newsgroup creation
guidelines outlined in "How to Create a New Usenet Newsgroup" and "How
to Format and Submit a New Group Proposal".  Please refer to these
documents (available in news.announce.newgroups) if you have any
questions about the process.
