Where can I get a copy of MASM?

My assembly language textbook came with a free copy of MASM611 (programmers
work bench, whatever you call it).  Unfortunately I've lost the CD that came
with the book and don't have it stored on my computer.  I was under the
impression that this was a free download from Microsoft, but it doesn't
appear to be.  Is there a place where I can get this for free??

Thanks,
-Adam

Adam,

MASM is distributed as part of Windows 98 Driver Developer Kit, but it
is only MASM and not the PWB and other utilities that came with the
commercial package. Information about downloading it is in my FAQ:
        http://www2.dgsys.com/~raymoon/faq/masm.html#9

I understand if you are a registered owner of Visual C++ you can order
the commercial MASM package from Microsoft. If anyone has done this,
please contact me with the details so that I can put it in the FAQ.

Hope that you find this information of some value.

Last November, it was a free download, but evidentally Microsoft is
re-organizing
their website. Check out  http://home.att.net/~jackklein/x86/x86_main.html  for
more info.
