I wrote a small TSR as described in the following

You use the mouse to copy any text currently on screen, e.g., "qqqqqq".
After you press return, it doesn't say "Bad command or file name". Instead
it simply ignores it. Can anybody explain? Please go to

you probably send the text directly to the screenbuffer.
dos does not look there (not a bug :). try sending youre data
to the textbuffer, that should work...

there is a program available on the net called pcmouse.
I don't remember who made it but i works really great.
just like gpm for linux.
