 Problem with DUP

If my program contains this:

  zits dq 4 dup(0)

I get this from MASM (Version 6.13.8204):

Assert(powermgmtasmrtn.asm:212): assemble.c.427: cbDefCur == 0
Assert(powermgmtasmrtn.asm:214): assemble.c.427: cbDefCur == 0
Assert(powermgmtasmrtn.asm:214): assemble.c.427: cbDefCur == 0

Any idea why? Is it a bug?

MASM 6.13.7299 does it fine.  is this a standalone asm program
you're trying to assemble?  if you make it just a barebones
program containing only (almost) the troublesome declaration,
does the error still happen?

 Problem with DUP
Hmmm ...  This works:

_text1 segment para public 'code'

 assume cs:_text1

zits dq 4 dup(0)

_text1 ends
end

In the command window where I ran ML, I had done:

set ml=/W3 /Zi /c /Cx /coff /Id:\JA.pgm\inc
