THE OBJECTIVES OF THE TUTORIAL ARE TO:

Provide a detailed look at the new software standard in place until 1997,
and consider how to use the standard from both a developer and acquirer's
point of view.

Understand where the U.S. Department of Defense is going in transitioning
from DOD-STD-2167A & 2168 to MIL-STD-498; then to the non-Government
standard, IEEE 1498/ EIA IS 640, and ultimately to the new ISO STD 12207.

Understand how the software standards fit into the big picture of the CMM,
SCEs, ISO 9000, etc.

THE INSTRUCTOR IS:

David S. Maibor - principal author of DOD-STD-2167, independent consultant
conducting hundreds of public seminars and on-site training classes since
1983, providing consulting services to Government and Industry on
MIL-STD-498 projects & previous projects under other standards, and
Industry representative on the MIL-STD-498 working group.
