Ada versus a real-world programming language

A significant quote from the Unquestionably Accurate, One-and-Only,

        A d a   F o l l i e s !!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                SKIT - A vs C Programmers

Teacher:  When discussing program quality, A uses words like:

A:        (Preachy.)  Security, interoperability, validability, provability,
          modularity, ...

Teacher:  (Interrupting.)  ... and lots of other ``ility'' words.  C uses only
          one word:

C:        (Enthusiastic.)  Speed!

Teacher:  So, if C is writing a program to drive an anti-airplane gun, you
can recognise it easily, because it will fire immediately (pause) and
miss the plane.  If A writes the same program, it computes exactly the
right aim, (pause) but fires long after the plane has passed out of
          range.

Teacher:  C tells you that the C language is absolutely perfect.  MOREOVER,
it can be improved by adding *classy* extensions, preprocessors, etc.
A admits that, unfortunately, there are some known deficiencies in the
A language.  HOWEVER, you are not allowed to change it in any way!
