CosmoPlayer and Fire GL 4000 do not work together

I just bought a Fire GL 4000 (RealImage technology from E&S).
Unfortunaly it does not work with the CosmoPlayer 2.0, it immediately
crashes! I cannot get answer from Diamond or from Cosmo. They just
released a new driver, but no improvements. Cosmo recommends this Card
for Acceleration.

It seems to be the same with the Accelgraphics AccelEclipse II (same
chip inside).

Anybody gets Cosmo running with the GL4000? Any news about new drivers
coming, or new Cosmo version?

CosmoPlayer and Fire GL 4000 do not work together

I have exactly the same problem with my Fire GL 4000. I wrote to Cosmo
but never
got an answer.
Somewhere on the Cosmo homepage (I think it was utilities & tools) I
found the
utility oglpanel.exe This allows you to choose software rendering
instead of
hardware accelaration for CosmoPlayer. So at least right now I'm able to
use
CosmoPlayer on my machine.
Let me now if you know of a better solution.

I tried the drivers before, but update do not work. I uninstalled the
drivers, and reinstalled the new version. Now it works!

If you are running NT 4.0, install ServicePack 3 AND the admnfixi.exe
which is a bug fix for NT. Unfortunately I only know about a version for
an English NT 4.0. It can be found somewhere at the M$-Site. Please see
also http://cosmo.sgi.com/products/player/utilities/

Somewhere else I also read, that it is not enough to install the new
FIRE GL 4000 driver over the old one. You have to uninstall the old one
first and then reinstall the new one.
