 IE6 +VRML + javascript in VRML trouble (was: problem using javascript window.open in VRML)

I got problems using something like :
Anchor { url "javascript:window.open('a_web_page.html',
'alwaysSamePage','width=200,height=80,resizable=0');" children [ ...
with javascript in HTML page too.

Bug is present only in IE 6.
This trick works well with IE 5.5.

It is like if the result of the last javascript call
was passed to HTML context instead of vrml
context after the 5th change between call from html page and call call from
VRML script.

I tried to put all the javascript code in a function, but it didn't work.

My IE6 v6.0.2600.0000 is up to date with complete windows update today.
Blaxxun is Version 5.104 Direct3D Nov 8 2001 (586/6/803)

(I found a 806 instead of 803 version on other computers
But I downloaded last version from blaxxun, and it was 803.
Does 806 install only on ie 5.5 ?)

I am using Microsoft Windows 2000 Workstation
version 5.0 Service Pack 2 (Build 2195) too.

Seems like it is a IE/blaxxun software configuration issue.

If anybody can give me feedbacks about this kind of issue :

"javascript loss of control using vrml after a few exchanges
between javascript calls from html and from vrml"

It would be great.

Thank you.

Hi,
well was thinking on that problem too, another idea:

Make a Frameset like this:

<frameset rows="100%,*" frameborder="0" framespacing="0" border="0">
     <frame name="vrml" src="world.wrl" marginwidth="0"
        marginheight="0" scrolling="auto" FRAMEBORDER="No" BORDER="No"
        noresize framespacing="0">
     <frame name="windowopener" src="about:blank" marginwidth="0"
        marginheight="0" scrolling="no" FRAMEBORDER="No" BORDER="No"
        noresize framespacing="0">
</frameset>

and use the anchor-node with target=windowopener and load in that blind
frame a html page that opens the window with javascript window.open...

that work-around works on every browser with any plugin on any platform.

it could be the best fix, indeed.

I will take a look at it and make you know the
results of my investigation.

Yep just to add a frame to index to fix it.
no need to change the target to the other frame for me.
It is the best fix I tried anyway.
