I wanted to know about Mod operator..
1. Does it support std_logic_vector data tyape?
2. Does Altera or Xilinx support it?

It works on signed, unsigned and integer.  Conversions are simple.  Use
ieee.numeric_std.all, please.

I don't know about Altera, but FPGA Express that ships with the Xilinx tools
does support it, with the caveat that you can only mod by a power of two.
That limitation is in the synthesis tools only; VHDL will let you mod
whatever you want.
