Supplied without any kind of warranty/copyright etc. here's a quick
filter for converting VHDL into a pretty colourful HTML snippet.

Enjoy.

Seems interesting but a possible and usefull enhancement would be to add
links between the functions, procedures entities,... so that we could really
browse through a complete VHDL design.

Woops!

Raghu, you need to add an html prolog (at start) and epilog (at end).

Prolog example:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>output from vhd2html v1.0</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<PRE>

Epilog example:

</PRE>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Sorry.

I tried your program on one of my sample vhdl files.
THe out is horrible when seen through netscape.
( Everything appeared in a single line with ofcourse some comments and
 reserved words in Italic)
Could you please post a sample vhdl file which rellay looks better?

Raghu, you need to add an html epilog (at start) and prolog (at end).

Epilog example:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>output from vhd2html v1.0</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<PRE>

Prolog example:

</PRE>
</BODY>
</HTML>

I've added them to vhdl2html.l file.

Thanks for posting Jon.

Have fun.

p.s. Here's a command line example:

vhdl2html \
        -t black \
        -i green \
        -f yellow \
        -k blue \
        -c firebrick \
        -s black \
        myfile.vhd > myfile.htm

It's only a wrapper. Add the following to the head of the file:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE></TITLE>
</HEAD>

<BODY BGCOLOR=white>

<PRE>

Alternatively, pick up version 1.0a from

        ftp://ftp.ces.cwru.edu/pub/VHDL/contrib/

Jon.
