Q: anyone used Kowa Scheme (->Java) for large projects?

The Kowa Scheme -> Java compiler looks interesting.
Has anyone used it for a large project?  If so, how does
the runtime performance compare with MIT Scheme
(which compiles to native code)?

Thanks in advance for any info!,
