 Activex-like application

I need to create a browser-based gui.
It cannot use asp.net, and I would like to know how to implement an
Activex-like application
using C#.
Thanks.

Arnoldo,

It is easy enough to create ActiveX controls for use in Internet
Explorer.  You have two options.  You can either create an ActiveX control,
or you can create a .NET control and embed that within your page.

In order to create your ActiveX control, develop your control normally,
and when you have a compiled assembly, run the TLBEXP program on the
assembly.  This will create a TLB file that can be use to register the
control.

If you want to embed the control directly into a page in Internet
Explorer, then the machine running it has to have the .NET framework
installed on the machine.  In the object tag, you would place the following:

Assembly.dll#Namespace.Path.ControlName

Where Assembly.dll is the dll that your assembly resides in, and what
follows the pound sign is the full name (including namespace) of your class.
A better explaination can be found at:

And there is more information on this process at (watch for line wrap):

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dn_v...
skgui/html/askgui11062001.asp

    Hope this helps.
