GS 4.03 and Epson Stylus Color 600

I just bought an Epson Stylus Color 600 printer.  I have Aladdin
Ghostscript 4.03 running under RedHat 4.1.  I have no problems running
the printer at 180x180 or 360x360.  However, when I try to go to
720x720 (the printer itself can do up to 1440x720), I just get
formfeed after formfeed until I lprm the job and clear the printer's
memory.

So,
(1) Has anyone had any luck getting 720x720 working with the 600?
(2) If not, are there any rumors of any updates to the stcolor driver?
I noticed in the docs that the author says the driver is pretty much
dead -- no further work other than bug fixes.
(3) Is any work being done on supporting the 1440x720 mode?

Thanks much!
