 Acrobat Newsgroup Links -- HELP!

We just changed from an Apache server to a Microsoft server and have
lost all newsgroup links from inside PDF documents. Ordinary url's
inside Acrobat work just fine, as do newsgroup links from HTML pages.

works like a champ under Apache, but Microsoft instead looks for a
newsgroup of /glib/comp.text.pdf.

The "glib" is the subdirectory the PDF file was being served from!
Yet, the prepended result does actually get as far as the news server.

Are there some slashes or dots or squiggles or whatever that can be
added to the url to tell Microsoft to "use only the info provided
without appending anything". Or any hidden preferences?

Any hints here????????
Please help.
