 Search for a namespace

hello,

    I am planning a new Tk widget, based on a frame, which represents
    two Scale(s), each one interacting with the other (the first,
    'minimum', is always under or equal to the second, 'maximum'). The
    goal is to retrieve an interval narrower than the Scale interval
    ['-from'..'-to'] Thinking in 'Scale': - Option '-variable' is
    replaced by two options '-varmin' and '-varmax'. - Two options added
    '-lblmin' and '-lblmax' (although option '-label' acts for the whole
    widget) - Option '-command' reacts on a change of any variable.

    At this time, there is no method provided for this widget.

    I think a good namespace will be Tk::Scale::Interval, although it
    is not Scale based, because its purpose is to retrieve a pair of
    values (vs the purpose of a Scale is to retrieve one value)

    Perhaps a better will be Tk::Interval ?

    Any suggestions ?

Tk::Interval is fine.

I wrote a similar widget for Win32 a few years ago. I called it CRange, so I
would suggest about Tk::Range ?

Here are some suggestions:

 slidermin     slidermax
    v            v
---------------------------------
|  ----         ----            |
|  | 3|         |12|            |  < groove
|  ----         ----            |
---------------------------------
      ^        ^
    active edges

put both sliders in the same groove, which forces them to be ordered man<=max.
The text labels values should be placed on top of each slider. The left
slider's active edge is the right edge, and the right slider's active edge is
the left edge-1, so that they can be slid together and have the same value
(min=max). Also, put allow the user to hold shift or ctrl while sliding one
slider, which will "lock" the two sliders together, so that (max-min=
constant).
